The Nigerian Institution of Electrical and Electronics Engineers is to host her 14th annual confab in Port Harcourt from October 8 to 12 with the theme, Power and Communications for Environmental and Security Management. Security experts, policy makers, investors, industry leaders and students are gearing up for the event usually tagged, International Conference and Exhibitions on Power and Telecommunications, ICEPT.
The participants will find solutions to the security challenges in the country using various means and applicable technologies. The event which will witness in attendance huge number of engineers and stakeholders will be graced by dignitaries and government functionaries.
The Rivers state governor HE Barr. Nyesom Wike, CON will declare the event open. Hon Minister of Power, Works and Housing, Mr Babatunde Fashola SAN will be Special Guest Speaker. Other special guests include the President Nigerian Society of Engineers, Engr Adekunle Mokuolu, FNSE According to the organizers, the Executive Chairman/CEO Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commision, NERC Prof James Momoh and Executive Vice Chairman/CEO, Nigerian Communications Commission, NCC Prof Umaru Garba Danbatta will deliver keynote address at the event.
The Institution’s National Chairman, John Funso-Adebayo has assured all participants that the conference will meet the expectations of all and deliver on its key objectives looking at the caliber of speakers in attendance. An array of quality technical papers will be presented by industry resourced persons and from the academic in a bit to proffer solutions to the intractable problem of insecurity in the country.
The conference will feature prolific experts across the country and beyond who are leaders from the private sector, regulators, energy consultants and analysts. They will discuss and analyze critical issues on creating a secured future for Nigeria through the promotion of security and environmental management using power and communications as tools for national development.
