“In the global smartphone market, Huawei has gone from being dismissed as a statistical ‘Other’ to ranking among the top 3 players in the world,” says the company, “in Q4 next year, it’s possible we become No. 1”
The company says it sold over 200 million smartphones in 2018, up from 153 million in 2017 and 3 million in 2010.
In Q3 Huawei had 14.6% market share, second to Samsung’s 20.3%, according to IDC. Samsung’s share is sliding.
The company says its sales are growing strongly in Europe and China.
Huawei says sales are mostly being driven by its P20, Honor 10 and Mate 20 models.
