The company says it sold over 200 million smartphones in 2018, up from 153 million in 2017 and 3 million in 2010.
Despite political moves to stop Hyundai selling phones and switchgear in several national markets, Huawei overtook Apple in Q2 to become the world’s second biggest smartphone vendor after Samsung.
In Q3 Huawei had 14.6% market share, second to Samsung’s 20.3%, according to IDC. Samsung’s share is sliding.
The company says its sales are growing strongly in Europe and China.
Huawei says sales are mostly being driven by its P20, Honor 10 and Mate 20 models.
