London Police Will Use Drones To Target Dangerous Drivers

The drone will take to the skies over London from 22-26 July as part of the Vision Zero week.

In the hopes of reducing the number of dangerous drivers on the roads, the Met Police have enlisted the help of a drone .

The force says that the drone will target ‘road users engaged in dangerous driving, such as racing, that could potentially put others at risk.’

Vision Zero is an initiative by London Mayor Sadiq Khan , which aims to eliminate all deaths on London roads by 2041.

Information collected by the drone will be relayed to officers on the ground, who will then deal with the drivers

“The drone is being used to support gathering of intelligence and evidence.”
