LCCI Holds Youth Entrepreneurship With increasing youth unemployment and the rise in crime wave, the need for entrepreneurial development has become paramount. The Lagos Chamber for Commerce and Industry (LCCI) organized its maiden youth summit with the theme: Youth Entrepreneurship and National Development .
The president of LCCI , Mr Babatunde Ruwase in his open remarks re-affirmed the commitment of the Chamber to National development by building the youth to sustain the economy through startups that would create quality jobs and improve their socioeconomic wellbeing.
He stated that the Chamber has been very supportive to startups by providing support, source of funds and mentorship. According to him there has been a record of successful entrepreneurs who have benefitted from the schemes of LCCI.
Ultimately, the investments of these start up entrepreneurs increase the nations GDP. He further described entrepreneurs as people who invest with risk capital to the economy by taking calculated risk in actualising viable ideas.
At the event , a panel of experienced entrepreneurs delved deeper into salient issues that border on starting business in the country.
