Chinese Chip Companies Receive The Most Government Support — OECD

Chinese semiconductor companies receive the most government support of any of their global peers proportionately to their revenue, states a report from the OECD.

The OECD looked into public financial records of 21 international chipmakers which represent two-thirds of the global market.

It found that Chinese companies receive higher government support relative to their revenues than companies elsewhere.

This support comes by way of cheap loans, investments at below market price, and direct budgetary support.

Tsinghua Unigroup gets government support worth 30% of its revenue, while SMIC gets  government help equal to over 40% of its revenue.
