Airtel Launches TV Platform In Nigeria

Airtel Nigeria has launched a new video streaming app dubbed AirtelTV. The app will enable airtel users to stream free entertainment content from their mobile phones.

AirtelTV is a subscription-free streaming app specifically for airtel users. The platform allows customers to stream entertainment content via 4G-enabled phones.

The app is currently available on Android and iOS. It will offer a one-stop-entertainment platform where users can stream varieties of content such as videos, news, sports, movies, and music.

The Video-on-Demand service will offer content from popular channels like Bloomberg, Gametoon, Fashion Box, Bollywood, AlJazeera, and GodTV. Also, indigenous content from Trace will be shared on the platform.

The Chief Commercial Officer of Airtel, Dinesh Balsingh said the telco is set to revolutionize television viewing in Africa. It will also offer AirtelTv users access to the best shows, movies and live television engagements.

The launch of AirtelTv will make Airtel the first telecommunications company to launch a streaming site in Nigeria. It will also make it compete for market share with bigger streaming sites like IrokoTV and Netflix.

Furthermore, the streaming app will help the telco gain a larger number of subscribers and generate more revenue from mobile data subscription.

How to Install AirtelTV

  • Users can download the AirtelTV application via the Google Play Store or Apple Store.
  • This is followed by filling the registration form with an Airtel phone number and email address.
  • Then the user will insert the OTP sent to his/her phone to complete registration.
