COVID-19: Rwanda Uses Robots To Manage Patients

The Robots are being used to attend to Coronavirus (COVID-19) patients in the country.

In a bid to reduce contact between COVID19 patients and medical workers, the Government of Rwanda has launched the use of robots to do chores previously done by medical personnel.

According to reports, five (5) robots are currently deployed at the Kanyinya COVID19 treatment facility in Nyarugenge District.

The robots have the capacity to screen between 50 to 150 people per minute, capture both video and audio data which can be fast track the response to COVID-19 crisis.

The robots will be able to efficiently check for body temperature, make remote video call and control, promote policy, carry out epidemic consultation, masks detection and alert, patrol and broadcasting and all day service.

It will also deliver food and drugs to patients, as well as act as video-conferencing links between patients and doctors.

The Rwandan president, Paul Kagame, has received a lot of accolades from Rwandans and the world alike for his innovation.
