The Chairman, Momas Electricity Meters Manufacturing Company, MEMMCOL, Mr Kola Balogun, said over the weekend that as the company’s Corporate Social Responsibility to develop manpower capability among unemployed youths, the company was ready to train over 300 youths in the country.
Balogun said the scheme which is to complement Federal Government’s effort on the planned rollout of metering in the power sector would enhance the meter manufacturing sub sector of the power sector, adding, “The extension is to develop manpower skills to be able to install the meter.”
According to him, participants in the free metering installation training scheme will be selected from the six geopolitical zones of the country, and the first phase will last for two weeks.
He said, “Momas, as a key stakeholder in the downstream of the power sector, sees the initiative as viable way to create employment opportunities for our youths”.
Momas has been training youths on metering and meter installation in the sector over the years thereby continuing to deepen its market segment in the power sub sector.
