Ortom Hails Air Peace As Airline Begins Makurdi Flight Operations

Benue State Governor, Samuel Ortom launched flight operation of Air Peace from Makurdi to Abuja/ Lagos.

The airline made its debut flight from Lagos through Abuja, the Federal Capital Territory, with over 40 passengers.

Ortom described the flight operation as historic that would ease transport challenges to people, particularly, investors coming to the state.

The governor expressed gratitude to Air Peace for choosing Benue for its flight operation, noting that it would be of great benefit to the people.

Ortom said, “This is historic and would boost opportunities in the state and provide opportunities for greater impact and participation of the people and engage them so as to reduce unemployment.

Ministerof Special Duties and Intergovernmental Affairs,  Senator George Akume, who was a passenger noted that attempts had been made in the past to ensure regular flight into the state to enhance economic activities.

Unfortunately, he said, none of the attempts was successful as it had always been a false start.

Chairman, Air Peace, Allen Onyema, said the event was historic feat as no airline currently operates commercial flights from Lagos or Abuja into Makurdi.
