China is to instal over 600,000 5G base-sations in 2021, almost doubling its 5G capacity reports the Xinhua news agency.
Xiao Yaqing, China’s Minister of Industry and Information Technology, announced the plan saying it comes on top of at least 718,000 base stations nationwide.
While shares of domestic switchgear providers Like Huawei, ZTE, Datang Telecom, Peers Fiberhome, Wuhan Fingu and Suzhou Shijia Science & Technology went up on the announcement, shares of the network operators like China Mobile, China Unicom and China Telecom went down because of the costs they will incur in expanding the network.
