PHED Speaks On Sustainable Collection

Fresh from hitting 3.5B in December 2020, the highest collection figure ever recorded, made possible by numerous strategic initiatives implemented by the MD/ CEO Dr Henry O. Ajagbawa, there has been a renewed call by the Chief Commercial Officer, Solomon Okopi calling for a ‘No Retreat, No Surrender Collection Approach in 2021’.

This conscience call was contained in an email circulated to all staff on the state of collection. Okopi, who hit the ground running upon assumption of office by organizing a retreat in near-by Uyo to re-strategize on commercial tactics, was in no frivolous mood as he questioned the dwindling collection.

The Chief Commercial Officer, who acts and walks in the belief that ‘Effort is nothing, result is everything ’, said all staff should collectively adorn their marketing cap for sustainability to avert a possible heatwave. “The collection tide is no longer favorable and hammered that this is not the time for arm-folding but a period of action”, he said.

Okopi disclosed that the new normal under the present Management is that collection is a collective responsibility and went ahead to read the riot act on meter-bypass, vandalism and non-payment of electricity bill that has short-lived our highest collection threshold.

The CCO did not mince words about customer sabotage and advised all stakeholders to report the above-mentioned cases with every sense of urgency to clamp down perpetrators.
