NIEEE Elects First Female Chapter Chairman

The Nigerian Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers has elected her first female chapter chairman in its 38 years of existence. In an election conducted at the  chapter’s secretariat. Engr (Mrs) Ime Eseme Essien emerged as the first female chapter chairman with other executive committee members.

The new Ikot Ekpene chapter chairman will pilot the affair of the institute for the next two years. In an interview with Engineers Forum correspondence, the chairman-elect promised to reposition the chapter and take it to a greater height. She promised to make the chapter the best among the 28  chapters by implementing the mission and objectives of the Institute as outlined in the Constitution.

The out-going chairman Engr John Affia said he believes in the ability of the chairman-elect to move the chapter forward.

Engr (Mrs) Ime Eseme Essien is an active member of the Association of Professional Women Engineers of Nigeria, APWEN, and also other professional bodies.
