The Council for the Regulation of Engineering in Nigeria, (COREN) has appointed Prof Adisa Ademola Bello as the new Registrar.
Prof Ademola Adisa Bello, a former National Chairman of the Nigerian Institution of Mechanical Engineers, NIMechE is a Professor of Mechanical Engineering. He attended St. Mathew’s Anglican primary school, Kurra Falls and the Boys’ Secondary School, Gindiri, all in Plateau State. He obtained in 1989, the Bachelor of Engineering degree in Mechanical Engineering from the Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University, Bauchi. He obtained the Master of Engineering in Solid Mechanics and Doctor of Philosophy in Mechanical Engineering from the same institution.
The Registrar is the Chief Executive Officer and Chief Accounting Officer of COREN and is answerable through the President of Council to the Council. He will also be expected to provide the requisite professional and administrative advice to the Council and leadership of the staff of the Secretariat laid down by the Act and the Council in the achievement of the objectives of COREN.
He is a Fellow of the NSE, NIMechE, AutoEI, SESN and IMC and the Nigerian Academy of Engineering. He is also a member of NIM (Chartered), ASME and SPE. He is listed in the International Who’s Who Historical Society (2011 – 2012) as a Professional Educator and the International Registry Who’s Who of Executives and Professionals (2012 – 2013) as a Professor. He is a recipient of many awards locally and internationally.
Prof Adisa Ademola Bello will take over from Prof Joseph Odigure who is completing first term in the office this year. He assumed office effective March 2019.
Odigure took over from Kamila Maliki, who served two terms as registrar of COREN from March 2013 to March 2019.
