WhatsApp has launched a new Message Drafts feature across iOS and Android platforms globally, helping users track and complete their unfinished messages more efficiently. The feature automatically flags incomplete messages with a “Draft” label and moves them to the top of the chat list for easy access.
The new functionality addresses a common user frustration where partially composed messages get lost or forgotten when users switch between multiple conversations. When users exit a chat before sending a message, the draft text remains visible in the chat list preview alongside the green “Draft” indicator, eliminating the need to search through conversations manually.
This release follows a series of recent platform improvements, including private mentions in status updates, customizable contact lists for iPhone users, enhanced photo and video call filters with background effects, improved zoom controls for the in-app camera, and new home screen widgets that display frequently contacted conversations.
WhatsApp says that the Message Drafts feature is available in WhatsApp’s latest versions on iOS and Android. However, some users may receive the functionality gradually over the coming weeks as part of the platform’s staged rollout approach.
