Abstract
The increasing global concern about waste management has necessitated the involvement of biochemistry in developing innovative solutions to mitigate the environmental impact of waste. Biochemistry plays a crucial role in waste management by applying their knowledge of biochemical processes to create sustainable waste technologies, convert waste into valuable products, and promote waste reduction and minimization strategies. This paper highlights the diverse roles of biochemists in waste management, including biodegradation, bioremediation, waste-to-energy conversion, and the development of value-added products from waste materials. By exploring the contributions of biochemists in this field, we can better understand the potential for sustainable waste management practices and the importance of interdisciplinary approaches to addressing environmental challenges.

2. Reusing the waste is also one of the method
for waste management like in construction
industry, where materials like concrete,
bricks and steel are often reused.
3. Landfilling with Energy recovery which
involves disposing of waste in landfills while recovering energy from the gases produced.

Honestly, it would be great if lots of value added products could be derived from wastes. We’d have an even more healthy environment. Better still, if these processes could be done locally, homes could manage their wastes themselves. In my opinion, this could be a million dollar initiative if implemented in full swing
