Judiciary Key To Local Content Success — Amb. Awatt Caleb

The Office of the Special Adviser to the Cross River State Governor on Local Content has reaffirmed its commitment to driving innovation, economic growth, and job creation for youths by organizing a 1-Day Local Content Sensitization Workshop for judges, magistrates, and judicial officers. The event emphasized the need for collaboration between the judiciary and government to strengthen local supply chains while upholding standards under the Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board (NCDMB) Act, 2010.

Held under the theme: “ACCESS TO REMEDY: THE ROLE OF THE JUDICIARY IN CONTENT IMPLEMENTATION ,” the workshop highlighted the judiciary’s critical role in enforcing compliance with the Nigerian Oil and Gas Industry Content Development (NOGICD) Act.

In his welcome address, Ambassador Awatt Caleb, the Special Adviser to the Governor on Local Content, praised participants for their engagement, noting that their partnership is vital for effective policy execution. He urged judicial officers to support capacity-building initiatives that enhance local participation in key sectors.

The event reinforced the state’s push for sustainable development through local content enforcement, ensuring that legal frameworks align with economic empowerment goals.
