Nigerian flag carrier, Air Peace airline, has launched direct flight operations on the Lagos- Mumbai route with N450, 000 ticket fare.
The airline recently started with two weekly flight frequencies to Mumbai, the capital city of Maharashtra State in Southwestern India, with plans for Delhi operations in the offing.
The operation brings respite to Nigerians and Indians, who have had to travel several hours of connecting flights between the two countries. Air Peace’s Chief Operating Officer, Oluwatoyin Olajide, said the Mumbai route is the fourth international destination for the airline, and an indication of a commitment to continually expand the route network to meet the travel needs of the West African region.
“Our Mumbai service is direct, meaning no stopovers. So, you’re saving time, money and avoiding stopover stress. Also, we’re offering a launch fare of N450,000. That’s unbeatable, especially considering that we’re deploying our comfy Boeing 777 aircraft, offering passengers best-in-class hospitality,” she said.
She added that the airline is strengthening its presence on the Asian continent with the launch of the Mumbai service, describing it as a huge feat for the Bilateral Air Services Agreement (BASA) and socio-economic ties between Nigeria and India.
The COO said passengers could connect from Kano, Port Harcourt, Abuja, Accra, Monrovia and Douala through Lagos to Mumbai. “And if you are connecting from any of the aforementioned domestic routes, the fare for the local leg is waived. These are some of the benefits you enjoy from our Mumbai service.
In a related development, the management of Air Peace has apologised for delays with its recent flight schedules. The airline in a statement, said the “disruptions were due to unscheduled aircraft maintenance, and largely by delays in renewing work permit/ visas of many of our expatriate pilots.”
While expressing regrets over the inconvenience, the company, however, assured its customers that it is strongly committed to safety, and will never compromise established standards.
