Computer Village Set for Online Stores

Mr Chuks Ekekwe, Chairman, Plaza heads, computer village said that plans are underway to create a platform for online stores.

Ekekwe the newly elected chairman of Plaza heads in the Computer Village stated this in an interview in Lagos recently.

He said that the online stores for the biggest technological hub in West Africa was to get more connected to the world and reach out to more customers.

According to him, being a technological hub it was necessary to go with the trend of being digitalised and embracing online stores.

”We are creating a platform that will be bigger than Jumia, Computer village is losing customers due to online stores.

”We are looking at a way to create a platform that everybody in the computer village will key into instead of going to Jumia and Konga for product and services we can afford.

”We want to reach out to as many people as possible by being connected because there us the need for the online presence,” he said.

In an earlier interview,  a software developer,  Mr Austin Agbakor, had called on SMEs to have an online presence.

Agbakor said that having an online presence, that is having an online store would make to get connected to the world.

According to him, any SME without an online presence will in future be out of business.

The election was organized by Computer and Applied Products Dealers Association of Nigeria (Capdan) for the Plaza Head executives.

The president, Capdan,  Mr Adeniyi Ojikutu said that plaza heads is a sub unit of the association.

Ojikutu said that there are about 120 plazas in the market and each of the plazas had a leader.

According to him, it was the heads that came together to elect their executives that would manage their affairs and disseminate information from the umbrella body Capdan.

”The idea is to get information down to the people through these executives.

”They are to help to make the governance of the association successful and the members to enjoy any expected entitlement.

The elected executives were Mr Chuks Ekekwe, chairman, Mr David Famuroti, Vice chairman, Mr James Odia, Secretary and Mr Ugochukwu Uzoaga, provost.
