SpaceX Launches First 60 Satellites Of Musk Internet Constellation

The first 60 satellites of what is intended to become a 12,000 satellite constellation were launched by SpaceX.

The constellation is for Elon Musk’s Starlink high speed internet service for which, he says, he may be signing up customers as early as this year.

For the moment, he has to see if all 60 satellites are working correctly which may take a day or two.

The satellites, each weighing about 500lbs, were launched from Cape Canaveral by a Falcon 9 rocket which returned from space to land on a barge in the Atlantic.
