At the West Africa’s biggest Water expo and HVAC Mega Clima 2019 which had hundreds of Foreign Investors from over 15 countries, Engineering bodies in Nigeria have called on foreign exhibitors at the event to build their companies in Nigeria so as to benefit Nigerians.
Engr Rabiu Idris, President of the Council for the Regulation of Engineering in Nigeria, COREN in an opening remark said that the council will always give its support for the advancement of modern technology in the country. According to him, “water is a basic necessity in life, it serves residential and industrial users as well as for agricultural and commercial ventures. This is why government at all levels is very keen at enhancing our accessibility,safety and quality of this important utility while obtaining economic sustainable standards. The private sector is a very important partner in the drive to enhance financial sustainability in the water sector”
He stated further that a combination of modern affordable technology and expertise as well as quality adjustment will ultimately enhance the sector in Nigeria.
The event was attended by officials of The Council for the Regulation of Engineering in Nigeria (COREN), the Nigerian Institution of Mechanical Engineers (NIMECHe), the Nigerian Society of Engineers (NSE) and the Association of Professional Women Engineers of Nigeria (APWEN). They appealed to the investors to also employ and train Nigerian Engineers and technicians.
