Power, Works Get Largest Allocation In Nigerian Budget

The National budget of 2020 as proposed by the President , Muhammadu Buhari on Tuesday at the National Assembly  has apportioned a bulky allocation of N262 Billion to the the Ministry of Works and Housing, the highest quota from the N10.33 trillion overall budget . Specifically, N127 billion  was allocated to projects on power and N123 billion on transportation.

He stated that the estimation for the projects were built on the 2020 to 2022 Medium Term Expenditure Framework   and Fiscal Strategy Paper approved by Members of the National House of Assembly.

The president stated that the proposal was formulated on the expectation of the administration to enhance the national real GDP  by driving it to 2.93 % in 2020 by diversifying through non- Oil sectors of the economy. He added that this would help check inflation in the coming year.
