The outgoing Secretary-General, Organisation of Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) Dr. Mohammad Sanusi Barkindo, said following the World Oil Outlook 2021, oil and gas will still account for over 50 per cent future global energy mix.
He spoke while playing host to the delegation of the Nigerian National Petroleum Company (NNPC) Limited in the OPEC Headquarters, Vienna, Austria.
According to the press statement he issued yesterday, oil and gas will play a vital role in providing solutions future energy demand.
He said: “Referencing OPEC’s World Oil Outlook 2021, the Secretary General noted that oil and gas will be accountable for more than 50 per cent of the future energy mix, highlighting that oil undoubtedly will be needed to address energy demand in the future.”
The NNPC’s delegation was headed by the Group Executive Director of Ventures and Business Development, Dr Billy Okoye.
