Lagos State: The Silicon Valley Of Africa

A report by GSMA in March 2018 revealed that Lagos is the city with the largest technology hub ecosystem in Africa.
With the forthcoming gubernatorial elections, there is the need to elect a forward-thinking government who will help realize the potential of Lagos as the bedrock for technology and innovation in Africa, one with a vision to expand the ICT ecosystem in Lagos into a more productive enterprise for homegrown technological solutions.

It is with these ideas in mind that the APC governorship candidate Babajide Olushola Sanwoolu has a mandate to partner with local and international organizations to establish more technology hubs across the state.

He also seeks to improve on the 20% internet penetration in Africa by working with ISPs to implement a Broadband rollout plan to power affordable internet access across Lagos within two years.
He also will work to maintain the Lagos state’s position as number one state in ICT development by patronising homegrown technological solutions and leverage on technology to improve public service delivery to achieve the smart city status.
