Eni, Vitol Receive WB03 Block Right In Offshore Ghana

Eni, Vitol Receive WB03 Block Right In Offshore Ghana. Eni and its partner Vitol have received rights to block WB03 in the Tano basin offshore Ghana.

The block, located in the medium deepwaters, was one of five blocks offered in Ghana’s first international competitive bid round.

Eni will be the operator of the license and besides Vitol the joint venture will include the Ghana National Petroleum Corp. and a local registered company that will be identified during the contract finalization phase. The contract award is subject to approval from the authorities.

In the Tano basin, Eni owns rights to the development areas of Sankofa and Gye Nyame as well as to the exploration and production area of CTP-Block 4. The new block is about 50 km (31 mi) southeast from the FPSO John Agyekum Kufuor that is currently producing oil and gas from the Sankofa field.
